research help - HIK Works

Hello All
Does anyone know how I can get a copy of HIK Works, the searchable database, for a Mac?

Thanks

tomas chaitanya

Let me know too please.

Thanks

Raqib

Are you asking about the 12 volume set, or the more comprehensive work that Sharif Graham was involved in?

The former:

The latter:

Hello friends, yes this is a great resource which i used to have in CD format that was downloaded on to my computer, ( its not a Mac)

It may be been around 2004 that i got it. It no longer works to down load it over past 8 years with current computers technology.

I would love to have a current version if there is one.

Wahhiddudin website does do most of what was available on HIK works…

Look forward to seeing what query reveals

warmly

Jamila

I have both the books and the one large book with all in one and I find

The large book very good and easy.

Ss I recall HIK Works was on a disc. You still have a disc drive:t_rex::rofl:

I have a 3569-page pdf file of the texts used in HIKWorks, copyright 1997-2004 by the Sufi Order International. It’s dated Oct 29, 2007. The filename (HIKworks_JK.pdf) leads me to speculate that it may have been distributed to JK members.

It’s searchable in the way that pdf files are searchable - not nearly as responsive as a database. Some of these texts are different to what’s on Wahiduddin.net.

The file is 17,582 KB in size. I’m happy to share it with anyone who wants it, if that doesn’t violate any Sufi Order copyright restrictions. Does anyone know about such things?

in service,
Sitara

Ronald
Thank you so much.

Hi Chaitanya and Raqib,

I believe HIKWorks was always a pc program, no Mac versions. You can find all the materials on Puran’s website hazrat-Inayat-khan.org. If you signin as a guest you can see all papers except higher level esoteric papers. Once you have created a signin you can contact Wahhab Sheets to get access to those papers. There is a good search engine for the site.

Love, Suhrawardi

there was a Mac version. I had it in 1998 as I remember…
could be a false memory…I was just tuning in to the technology
and I found it rather clunky

When you create an account, however, you must identify your organization as Sufi Order International, not Inayati Order, for me to access your information. Let me know your user name. I can set your level of access to esoteric papers based on your initiation level.

Thanks to all for the help. I had been using Wahududdin’s’ Bowl of Saki’ but I hadn’t delved into his site so I didn’t see the searchable database function until it was pointed out to me on this thread.

Wahhab, are the esoteric paper’s on Puran’s site also in searchable database form?

Can we have a a separate conversation (phone &/or facetime preferred) about the protocols for referencing the esoteric papers if we are engaged in a discourse on one of the online forums? I would also love to check in with you on other parts of life as well.

yours in friendship

tomas chaitanya

I had a Mac version. Hallaj

We have a copy of HIK works.
Sarmad says that it isn’t supported by the new operating systems. We can’t use it on any computer newer than 100-12 yrs old.
We suggest using wahiduddin.net
