"How to": usage of PV Inner School section

Dear friends of the JK and JA,

Thank you for the kind words of gratitude in response to the Pir Vilayat Inner School Site, both written and unwritten!
I asked Karim to say a bit about usage of the site in case you would like to explore the site further.
Blessings ,
Naima

From Karim:
Here is a brief introduction to the Inner School Section. Hopefully it will be helpful:

The Pir Vilayat Inner School Section is a fully hyperlinked PDF document. It can be opened on computers, smart phones, and tablets. The Main Sections, and Table of Contents are all hyperlinked within the document, and clicking on one of these links will take you directly to that section.

It is a very large document and at the bottom of each page there is a [HOME] link that will return you to the top page.

If you click on any of the blue hyperlinks in each specific section, that will take you to the SoundCloud website where you can listen to that specific Pir Vilayat album or track. If you are listening on a smart phone or a tablet, I recommend downloading the SoundCloud app as it really streamlines listening on devices. These SoundCloud tracks are “private,” and may only be accessed through the links found on this document.

The search function is very useful to find any key terms, and identify audio tracks that one may wish to listen. On a Windows computer, hold down Ctrl + F to search, and for Apple computers, hold down Command + F to open the search window.

The Pir Vilayat Legacy website is found here: www.pirvilayatlegacy.net

If anyone has any problems or questions please feel free to email me: brentupdegraff@gmail.com

Love,

Karim

So Grateful for this treasury.
What a gift to our generations to come

Brothers and Sisters:

I wish to encourage you to actively use the material found in the PVIK Inner School Section as well as the recordings found in the PV Legacy website.

It was our intention that this material be actively utilized in guiding murids, to augment teachings in classes, and to be integrated into group and individual retreats. This material is not simply a historical document but rather an active supplement to the work each of you do in guiding murids.

An important point to remember is that the summaries of the recordings are no substitute for the actual recordings of Pir Vilayat. So much of his attunement and transmission is conveyed in the sound of his voice.

I have played sections via blue tooth in guiding group retreats. I have compiled playlists for retreatants to listen to via their smart phones during the course of individual and group retreats. These examples are just a start. I would like to discover with each of you, new ways to use this material. Please post here what you have discovered. Together let’s find ways, to use these recordings of Pir Vilayat to augment our work and enrich the experience of our murids. .

Espababbabbs: Forgive me if I have your name wrong but I have a question about the PV Inner School Section. I have 17 audio cassette tapes of Pir Vilayat that range in date from 1981 to 1996. Most are clearly marked but a few have no dates (for example one simply is labeled “Pir Singing”. I no longer have a tape recorder and prefer to read Pir Vilayat now rather than listen. Would you like me to mail you the tapes? I can pay for postage.

Let me know in the next week or so. I need to clear some space. Also, I presume the tapes work but I have no way of knowing.

Also if you don’t want them but know of someone who does let me know.

Jalil Buechel

Yes please and thank you. Please send me an email at espabadbabbs@gmail.com and I will send you the mailing address.

Here is an example of a playlist I gave to retreatants for a three day retreat I lead a year ago.
