Our soul’s journey is more complete when we recall who we were as a pre-incarnate angel and jinn and we anticipate what we will go through on our return journey as a post-incarnate jinn and angel. As rich as this added experience may be, we still have work to do in this life integrating not only this added dimensionality into everyday life but also resolving the opposites that continue to divide us. On this retreat, we will explore how the marriage of opposites can give birth to the child of synthesis also called the philosophical child.

Suhrawardi Gebel is a senior teacher in the Inayatiyya. He served as Secretary General from 2004 to 2012 and Chancellor of the Knighthood from 2010 to 2022. He is currently enjoying the role of mentor for leaders in training in the Inner School and for the Retreat Guide Training. He is the author of two published books, Root Speaks to Bud and Nature’s Hidden Dimension, and a forthcoming book, No God or Only God.
