We are taking the journey of the soul individually and collectively. We have our own
individual mission in this life and it is at the same time the divine mission shared collectively. The religions of the world have upheld the purity of this universal mission. When we begin to awaken to the purpose that binds us together, we become aware of the illuminated souls who are like midwives shepherding us through the process of the birthing of the soul.
On this retreat we will once again reiterate the journey of the soul, this time in the
company of inspired souls following the vision Murshid gave us in the Universal
Worship, the light of the divine wisdom, compassion, purity, law or covenant, self-
sacrifice, and unity. The diwan watches over us and beckons us to awaken into the
family of souls serving the divine purpose.

Suhrawardi Gebel is a senior teacher in the Inayatiyya. He served as Secretary General from 2004 to 2012 and Chancellor of the Knighthood from 2010 to 2022. He is currently enjoying the role of mentor for leaders in training in the Inner School and for the Retreat Guide Training. He is the author of three published books, Root Speaks to Bud, Nature’s Hidden Dimension, and No God or Only God.
