Dear Friends,

Below is a link to the youtube audio for the first of a four-week series of classes with Fr. Jonathan Wickham of All Saints Episcopal Church in Corpus Christi, and Don Weiner, Ph.D. (Azar Baksh). There will be one new class added to this playlist each week over the next three weeks. Here is a description of the series:

What is a spiritual path? What is the goal? Who is traveling on the path? We are limited by our conditioning – by beliefs, perception, and what we’ve been taught (including by religions and spiritual traditions).

Awakening is a process of freeing ourselves from our conditioning so that we can discover and live in the deeper reality in which we exist. The goal is not to erase ourselves and withdraw from manifestation. We live in a Universe which is engaged in a never-ending process of self-organization and evolution to higher states of being, in both manifest and subtle realms of existence.

In this second class of the series of four, we explore some axioms for spiritual awakening and discover how they may transform us.

  1. Everything is a portal to the sacred
  2. Each person is a unique manifestation of the divine who has a priceless gift to share with all of creation when we express the deepest desire of our heart
  3. We exist on multiple vibrational levels, even though we are normally only aware of our manifest self
  4. We can learn ways to experience subtle levels of our being and of reality
  5. Eventually we can learn to experience the fullness of our being existing on many levels, while modulating consciousness to operate in whatever level is needed at the time
  6. We can learn to live in a non-dualistic way of being while maintaining our unique sense of identity
  7. Through the circulation and interplay of the light of our being with the light of whatever we are in relationship with, new understandings become available that could not have taken place solely from ourself or from what we are in relationship with
  8. Our process of awakening is a divine service, not just for our own benefit

As we learn to awaken our subtle senses and modulate our consciousness to experience different vibrational levels on which we exist, it seems that the world becomes transformed, but in actuality, we are recovering a forgotten capacity to live in a much fuller state of being in a much richer world. We become active participants in the never-ending evolution of the totality to which we are deeply interconnected.
