I am co-presenting a four-part adult spiritual formation class with Fr. Jonathan Wickham at All Saints Episcopal Church in Corpus Christi, Texas. Religion and spirituality have focused on the return journey of the soul back to the source, but the nature of existence is evolutionary. We are exploring how we can each uniquely participate in the unfoldment of divinity in life in which both we and the Divine evolve together. Each class incorporates a dialogue between myself and Fr. Jonathan which relates to the perspective of Sufism and that of mystical Christianity. The third class includes practices on experiencing presence as an emergent rather than a static condition. Fr. Jonathan offers a very universal perspective on Christianity beyond institutions and belief systems.
I hope you will find these classes inspiring and perhaps opening new ways of thinking about what a spiritual path is and the process of awakening.

This is the fourth class in a series on Beyond Returning with Azar Baksh and Fr. Jonathan Wickham at All Saints Episcopal Church in Corpus Christi, Texas.
We are not meant to be passive participants (witnesses) in the unfoldment of new creation. Sufis say every desire begins with a divine impulse. This impulse is transformed through our involvement in manifestation, and the desire is brought to fruition by our awakening to the fullness of our human*divine being.
Everything is Gabriel seeking to reveal itself, and everything is longing for experiencing the unique expression of divinity that can only comes from the way our light interplays with the light of every unique expression of divinity that we are in relationship with.
Our dharma is to become capable of awakening to our unique divinity and contribute to the never-ending evolving symphony of lights upon lights in every realm of existence.
Pir Vilayat: “Dare you have the courage to be who you really are?”
We enable exponentially greater possibilities when we align the light and deepest desire of our being with the light of other awakening and awakened beings. This creates new possibilities not only for our own growth, but for the further awakening of all of existence to previously unknown and unforeseen wisdom.
This ends with a meditation on our illuminated self in the future in resonance with all illuminated beings in all times and all realms.
