Sufi Perspective on Dreams

Hello all! Corin here from the Astana and Inner School of NAO. I am writing to seek help on the topic of dreams.

A new ashiq messaged with “Are there any resources within the Inayatiyya that provide guidance around dreams? I’ve been noticing some profound unfoldings in that realm both before and after the blessing. I’m not looking for interpretations, but rather guidance on how to engage with dreams from a Sufi perspective, as it feels like an important part of my integration right now.”

Is there anyone with this expertise that would be willing to have a call with this ashiq, to provide some wisdom and guidance? Your help is much appreciated!

I have been in a dream group for years. We would get together and meditate with each other after hearing the dream and what is currently happening in the life of the dreamer.

Then we would all ask the question “if this was my dream what questions would I ask at the dream?”

Each person writes the questions as if it was their dream.

Every person an animal in the dream is a reflection of the dreamer.

It’s amazing the threads that are revealed and the wisdom that rises as the dreamer takes all the questions and answers them for themselves

There is much wisdom in our dreams if we desire to connect with it.

Much love,
Munira

You are the Light. Shine bright!!

Dear friends,

I know that Imam Salim has done extensive work on dreams and even led workshops, one of which I attended.
He is a wonderful resource.

Love,

Hi dear Nizam un Nisa,
Thank you for thinking of me with this.
It was great to see you recently in our little group. I do enjoy your Tarot cards and loved our synchronistic images.
I just completed a Dream Lodge teaching with Toko-Pa Turner. While I have thought of gathering a small dream group, timing hasn’t opened up yet. I am busy learning to walk!
I think that Imam Salim sounds like a good resource.
I hope you are well and happy! Perhaps we can chat again in the near future. Let me know if you are offering any tarot workshops, too !
Much love,
Ruya

Hello Dear Corin,

A Senior Teacher Guide Representative Mureed in Inayatiyya, Nigel Hamilton (Huzur) in the UK has been engaged in dreamwork for decades.
He had offered at some point offered to gather groups interested in pursuing dream work for transformation. He has written a book entitled
“Awakening Through Dreams - The Journey Through the Inner Landscape” which is an excellent resource.

Dear friends, it would be best to ask people who might be willing to offer their dreamwork services before volunteering them!

Hi @sakilee – I respect this protective energy, but I actually really appreciate knowing what expertise and resources we have in our community as fully as possible. To me, it feels like celebrating people’s work and offerings – keep it coming! I promise I won’t ever connect a seeker with a leader without their consent.

Thank you @yaqinj99, I will include this in my message to them. I think they will really appreciate the resource.

Thank you so much Shibli! I am very appreciative of your help with this request and will send an email to connect you with this seeker. Keep an eye out. It will come from the Inayatiyya guidance email account.

Thank you @tarachishti ! Much appreciated. I will include this resource in my message to this seeker, because I know she will appreciate the additional resource.

Thanks so much Ruya – it does sound like we have some wonderful resources in our community and that a dream series may be called for! Let’s think on it.

Thank you so much for this recommendation Nizam un Nisa! I am so excited by the engagement on this thread, and all the wonderful resources we have in our community. And I think your engagement is a big part of that spark. :high_voltage:

What a wonderful concept and way to engage with community. Thank you for sharing your experience and some of the questions this group asked for dream exploration. So helpful and thought provoking.
