A khanqah or khaniqah (also transliterated as khankahs , khaneqa, khanegah or khaneqah (Persian: خانقاه)), also known as a ribat (رباط) – among other terms – is a building designed specifically for gatherings of a Sufi brotherhood or tariqa and is a place for spiritual retreat and character reformation.

This year’s Season of the Rose: Sufi Summer School will be held in Portland, Oregon, returning to the beautiful campus of Lewis & Clark College.
All are invited to join us as we continue our exploration of the Essentials of the Sufi Path, including themes of breath, light, beauty, guidance, manner, meditation, poetry, music, zikr and the nature of Reality. We will gather together for large group sessions, as well as in smaller groups, each day, and for suhbat; zikr each night.
Faculty include Pir Zia Inayat-Khan, Devi Tide, Gayan Macher, Tasnim Hermila Fernandez, Deepa Gulrukh Patel, Jacob Ellenberg, and Special Guest Cheikh Sufi of the Mouridiyya Order of Sufis.
