Register Now for A Journey – a Pilgrimage – to Thailand:
March 15-24, 2026
This an opportunity to absorb the depth of an ancient culture. It’s also a chance to delight in the beauty and presence of the Thai people. We are going to sit and meditate with the monks, experiencing the sacred beauty of their temples and their caves. We’ll walk the palaces and the streets of this ancient culture. We’ll also spend time in a village, play with the animals (elephants), eat the food, dive into the natural world of Thailand. This kind of pilgrimage offers a transformation of being. Delight and deep experience. Play and exploration.
Join us on the Thailand Journey:
We’ll begin in Bangkok, staying on the Rivier of the Kings for easy access to many sites. Our guide has arranged some time touring and some time for deeper connection to the people and the spiritual practice of Thailand. We’ll visit the Grand Palace and the ancient temples you’ve already heard about, and also go a bit deeper into the culture of the Thai people.
Just as we went to the Marai of the Maori people, we will meditate with the monks of the Thai people. We’ll go to the cave where the Thai kings went to meditate and spend time there with the monks. We’ll also eat in special restaurants, learn a bit of the food and have time to go down the canals and, if you want to, walk the back streets of Bangkok.
Then we move to the Pran Buri area, near Hua Hin where we’ll have a small retreat center on the ocean, Villa Maroc, to ourselves. We have time to get Thai massage and other Thai health treatments each day, be on a healing retreat after the bustle of Bangkok, and also to visit further areas of Thailand on day trips. We’ll spend time with the elephants, go to the night market, walk through nature, and on your one free day out you could do anything from a day trip to Talu Island to the Hualin Safari and Adventure park – many choices - just as we did in New Zealand. Then we head back toward Bangkok. For those who have traveled with us in the past, you know there are also the unexpected miracles that come along the way.
On the way back to Bangkok we go to the famous Damoen Saduak Floating Market to shop and have lunch.
Our last night will be at the Raweekanlaya in Bangkok, a past home of Thai kings and families. It will be our last stay, steeped in Thai culture and history.
The entire time we travel with Dhim, our guide and friend, who has arranged these opportunities to have special time with the people of Thailand, and to absorb the deeper aspects of the Thai culture.
