Julianna Takacs has been a student of yoga & meditation for over 20 years. She began teaching yoga in 2004 and became an initiate of the Inayatiyya in 2005. Since then, the paths of yoga and Sufism have been closely intertwined. In 2010 Julianna attended the Yogi-Sufi Dialogue Conference in India through the Global Peace Initiative of Women’s Young Adult Contemplative Alliance, and in 2011 founded the Yoga Hoedown, a multi-day yoga and music festival hosted by the Abode of the Message every Labor Day weekend through 2016. For 15 years Julianna was based in NYC, teaching group classes, workshops, and teacher trainings. She served as faculty at Long Island University in Brooklyn, NY for their accredited course in Yoga for Wellness, and was featured in Time Out NY several years in a row as one of NYC’s top yoga classes. Julianna has sought to subtly bring the heart of Sufism into her yoga classes, and the embodiment practices of yoga to her Sufi path. After relocating to New Hampshire and then New Mexico, Julianna continues to teach yoga, and most recently joined the Inayatiyya staff as Program Director. www.juliannayoga.com
