BIOGRAPHY
Miriam MacGillis has been a member of the Sisters of St. Dominic of Caldwell, NJ. for over 60 years. With their sponsorship, she co-founded Genesis Farm in 1980. For four decades her work has been and remains focused on telling the scientific story of the evolution of the Universe and Earth as a single, seamless process over the last 13.7 billion years. It also includes the work of trying to create a functional cosmology based on that evolutionary story.
Genesis Farm is deeply rooted in the insights and perspectives of cultural historian, Thomas Berry and mathematical cosmologist Brian Swimme. Its work is focused in a special way on the restoration of the bioregional area of the Appalachian Ridge and Limestone Valley within the Delaware-Hudson Rivers’ water basin.
LatifaNoor Elizabeth Anderson is a longtime murid, Representative, Guide, and professional cellist studying Hindustani classical music who often sings her prayers. She will offer a chant from Hildegard saluting the green-ness in all living things.
