Please join us Friday, Nov 18, to explore authentic conversation that Bridge Experiential and Cultural Gaps with Fatima Hafiz, Onaje Muid, TajAli Keith and Tarana Jobin
I would like to make available the attached paper for increasing interfaith, inter-path, understanding, "Viewpoints in the Circle: Comparing Certain American Indian and Sufi (and other โEasternโ) Spiritual Traditions.โ If it is wanted, I am quite happy for it be sent out or made available through the Jamiat Am list or other means. It is a follow up to a short writing I did on the topic as an addition to what Pir Zia covered in Mingling of the Waters.
The first part of the paper explains my background for writing it: An Inayat member since 1977 and now Senior Teacher, being involved regularly in American Indian Ceremony since 1984, and as an academic with a specialty in American Indian and International Indigenous Affairs, serving as Senior Editor and Coordinator of the Editorial Board of Indigenous Policy (IPJ) having undertaken considerable research on the topic. The extensive notes provide sources for anyone wishing to look further into specific topics, as well as giving support for assertions and sources of quotes and information.
May all move in beauty.
In loving Service,
Muqit Stephen Sachs
