Healing White Racism

Dearest Ones,

To all in the southern hemisphere, Happy Spring Going Into Summer! And to all in the northern hemisphere, Happy Why Is It So Cold and Dark?

The good news is that there are new things at healing-white-racism.com. There’s a free pdf download as well as the free e-book, drumming resources for shamanic work, and an events page for workshops. If you’re interested in attending a free workshop of half a dozen people or so via zoom or in person, you can join the mailing list or write to me via the “contact” form - and keep an eye on the “Events” page. I’m also happy to work with anyone one-on-one if you have questions raised by the book. I might gently suggest making a donation to WBAI-FM for all that’s been learned at that “university of the air,” but I won’t be asking anyone to pay for a workshop or for otherwise working with me - the joy of the work is a more than sufficient recompense.

Much Love,
Vajra

Hi Vajra,

Are you aware of Ayaan Hirsi Ali? She writes about the dangers from Muslim jihad.

The book I just read is entitled “Heretic”

“Why Islam Needs a Reformation Now”

With much love and respect I do not think the most important issue is with white racism. Its with attacks on Christians in Muslim majority countries and attacks on Jews throughout the world and in Israel.

Love and Blessings,

Vakil in the UK.

Dear Vakil,

The section of my book called “We Have Questions” (the longest! - and I may have had way too much fun with it) addresses all the questions and objections I’ve heard and read about why we might or might not want to heal from White racism at all. I do confess that prioritizing the behavior of people who are thousands of miles away is new to me, but it does follow a pattern: please, can we just concern ourselves with those other people? You might find that section of the book useful, though I recommend beginning at the beginning, and especially not omitting the epigraph, from Jelaluddin Rumi: What draws you now will lead you further, and as it draws you to itself, what pleasure your suffering becomes! Its fires are like water, do not tense your face.

The idea being that it’s healing - it’s supposed to make us feel better.

Much Love,
Vajra
