Universal Worship Cherag Training 2022 – 24
Starting April 2022
The Universal Worship Service recognizes “ the divine wisdom in all its forms of diversity of faiths and beliefs; and to respect the illuminated souls who have drawn their inspiration from one and the same source, the divine Spirit of Guidance, in order to help humanity, at different periods, in various lands, in their time of need.” Hazrat Inayat Khan
This is a two year training course leading toward ordination as a Cherag in the Universal Worship. A Cherag is the celebrant who conveys the unity of religious ideals through the Universal Worship. The training is not solely an intellectual study of world religions, but an unfolding experience through study, spiritual practices, contemplation, prayer, meditation, and retreat. It is a journey to become whole, to purify the heart and free the spirit from egocentric distractions. It includes a commitment of service to others in harmony, tolerance, peace, and love.
Save the date: Information/questions sessions prior to training;
Wednesday Feb. 9th, 7:30 p.m. EST and Saturday Feb. 12th at a.m. 11:00 EST.
The training will consist of four, three-day training sessions each year, monthly zoom calls, homework and a four day retreat or Zoom.
The first training session will be April 8, 9 and 10th. Training will take place solely on zoom.
The training focuses on:
• Developing an attunement to the vision of the Universal Worship brought by Hazrat Inayat Khan
• Performance of the service and understanding of different religions
• Working with one’s own nafs (ego) especially in relation to the religions
This course is open to all sincere seeks and for current Cherags who want to deepen their attunement to the Universal Worship… This training will be led by Siraj Yaqin Joseph Aubert, with guest presenters.
