On the soul’s journey we have experienced ourselves in the angelic and jinn states and those states continue to operate behind the scenes in our life in the materialized world. The arc of our life we are passing through is called by the Sufis nasul or incarnation. On the spiritual path we also anticipate the return journey called by the Sufis uruj or resurrection. On retreat we will use attunement and imagination to explore our future life in the jinn and angelic planes and to prepare ourselves for what is to come.
Suhrawardi Gebel is a senior teacher in the Inayatiyya. He served as Secretary General from 2004 to 2012 and Chancellor of the Knighthood from 2010 to 2022. He is currently enjoying the role of mentor for leaders in training in the Inner School and for the Retreat Guide Training. He is the author of two published books, Root Speaks to Bud and Nature’s Hidden Dimension, and a forthcoming book, No God or Only God.
