Hello Everyone, I hope you are healthy and well and doing ok with the current restrictions. I’ve been trying to keep our local Mid-Atlantic Region (USA) informed of the many online Sufi activities, and I thought the list might be of interest to you. The list is incomplete for sure, and doesn’t include, unfortunately, offerings of other orders or other spiritual groups. All times are EDT and the activities are in English. I hope you have some free time this weekend!
First of all, if your local center is having any Zoom meetings, it is really wonderful to meet with the people you know. It’s so hard to keep in touch with our friends.
The first events on the list are described on the home page of Inayatiorder.org, plus you probably got Tuesday’s email about them.
1. Healing and the Mind World . In May, Pir Zia is continuing the series of talks on the Message Volumes with Volume IV, Healing and the Mind World, which seems so relevant today. The five talks are Sundays at 3. The past talks on the Message Volumes have been fantastic, as we have read Murshid’s words and heard Bawa’s interpretations. (I’m actually pretty excited about hearing Bawa talk about the Mind World.) It’s best to start the book beforehand. It’s available on the home page and at Amazon, plus there’s a very fine older edition available for free on wahiddudin.net The cost is a sliding scale from $0 to $50 for the five talks. Home page of Inayatiorder.org.
2. Future Sunday classes with Pir Zia. Every Sunday (after May) from 3 to 5, Pir Zia leads a class and gathering on Zoom.
3. The Presence of Patience and Love, a morning retreat with Aziza and Yaqin. Sat, May 16, 9:30 AM to 12:30 PM. A voluntary contribution to the Abode is suggested. (This should be fantastic, and I’ve signed up.)
4. The Astana in Richmond now holds its activities online. In addition to the events above, these are listed on the Inayati home page and include

11. Suluk Academy starts a new session on Sept 29. It meets over the course of two years, four times a year with five days per session. This is a total of eight in-person sessions and 40 days of study. This new session may be done online, with a great saving in travel time and expense, housing and meal costs. The cost for the two years is a bit under $5000. See inaytiorder.org home page.
Many of us have been continuing the practice of Khayr, Wellness, that Bawa has recommended, as a way to keep our attention on health and not on disease. His instructions with audio are at inayatiorder.org ~ digital ~ Soundcloud.
