We ever and always depend on our friends
And what could outshine the kind help a friend lends?
Our only wish then is to help in return
And thus down the ages does friendship’s torch burn.
The friend I enlisted this year was a goose
Direct from the North, from the Land of the Moose.
This dost from on high is a capital chap;
He flies and he flies and takes nary a nap;
And so I bethought me to ask for his aid.
Forthwith he consented, refused to be paid,
And soaring above, with a honk of the beak,
Assured me the job would be done in a week.
And what, you may ask, is the task of the bird?
The answer, dear friend, is to carry my word.
Now whither, you’ll ask, is the high-flyer bent?
Toward which patch of land will he steer his descent?
The answer, my dear, is he’ll fly to your door;
It’s you, after all, whom my message is for.
Of what, you’ll inquire, does the message consist?
I can’t divulge all, but I’ll give you the gist:
The message the wawa is tasked to convey
Is that I remain, down to this very day,
The wisher of all that is best for your life.
May God bless your days, and preserve you from strife;
And as all geese fly in a unified V
So may be the oneness ‘twixt you, dear, and me.
For nothing on earth e’er could give me such cheer
As flying in flock with you all through the year.
Such being the message my envoy will quack,
Of course, at your leisure, I hope to hear back.
Thank you for your blessings and heartwarming message dear Sarafil Bawa
